The story behind PD Deco
Philippa Davin is an accomplished international photographer. She has exhibited her Fine Art photography across the world.
Always creating and exploring new ways of bringing her subjects to life she had the idea to create UNITY, combining Fine Art photography with canvas painting.
To further incorporate her passion into every-day life, PD Deco was born, bringing UNITY to timeless and functional decorative pieces.
About Philippa Davin
The love for photography has been in my life since childhood.
Born with a camera in my hand, is how my close friends and family describe me. I can’t remember my first camera, but I know that I have always had a longing to capture beautiful moments and views that I have around me.
After high school I chose to focus on my passion. I studied post production and photography and started taking assignments as a photographer. The desire to continue to explore the world of photography led me to London and the Speos Photographic Institute.
After finishing my studies I returned to Sweden where my sister Natasha was diagnosed with Cancer. I then decided to do a photo documentary of her illness. Every step of the way was captured. Together we created a charity named “Vår kamp mot cancer” (Our fight against cancer) to raise money for cancer research.
In the spring of 2014, we exhibited You can borrow my body but never take my soul, which consisted of 25 black and white photos. The photos exposed some of Natasha’s toughest times during her battle. The exhibition managed to raise over 1 million SEK for Cancer research.
Horses have always been a big part of my life. From the beginning as an equestrian rider I spent all my time with and around horses and when the interest for photography grew the horses became my models. With my equestrian art I like to twist and turn to get different angles and create new ways to look at a horse.Find Philippa’s artworks, PD Fine Art at www.philippadavin.com
